Message: Nearly home, chatting we slowed to turn right into our country lane and immediately saw the strangest group of glowing circles. For a split second I thought they were air balloons (the were orange underneath) but then saw that the formed a T shape. The downward part of the T was very odd. 4 of these exactly under each other as though in formation and the others like a wavy S on its side at the top. As we watched one shot to the West and placed itself over another and then others started to move. As we gawped they moved around and several shot to the E. As it was still not quite dark we drove the final few yards home and I ran indoors to grab my spyglasses. There was only one left and this had moved quite a long way east by then. I got it in my sights and saw the base as definately orange but as I took the glasses away to see it unaided, it moved erratically then like a light being switched off, was gone.
We saw these last year in exactly the same place but not in these numbers and formations. The odd thing was that there were planes coming and going (Stansted nearby) and these obviously were blissfully unaware of the round orbs. Another thought was they were Army helicopters on night manouvres but this thought was scotched as soon as we knew there was total silence. At that height there would have been a dreadful din.
We never mentioned to anyone lest we were thought ga-ga. !
They were there though and two of us cannot be seeing things.
