Message: My sighting occurred around
midnight from
05.10.2008 11.56 pm to 06.10.2008 12.15
am.
I went to my 2nd floor
window to do some
night sky watching and after 10 min I saw a very
faint twinkling light, distant and above the roof
skyline.
I looked and
searched for it again
without success and thought I had lost sight of it
for good but before giving up I decided to use the
nightshot feature of my
Sony camera and I was
completely gobsmacked how easy I found the
object in
the same place I had seen it briefly before!
Again, I
tried to look at it with my bare eyes and normal
binoculars and
yet couldn't see anything!
Then I tried with the camcorder in
normal
mode but still nothing! So, I switched the nightshot feature on
and there it was!
Even though we had rain and
grey/cloudy sky during most of
the day, at that moment the
sky was completely clear with many star visible,
so I
could not understand why in this occasion the object was invisible for
me to see with my bare eyes.
Amazingly, 1-2 min after
it disappeared from my
sight, when I saw a sudden
huge and bright lightening engulfing the whole
sky for
about 3 secs, even though there were no storm/clouds at all!
