Message: My son,
who was walking to a local fair, rang me and asked me to
look outside at two
strange orange lights in the sky. I
managed to catch a glimpse of one as it
seemed to
disappear behind clouds. A couple of moments later, we noticed a much
larger bright white object coming from the same direction
as the previous ones.
I would describe it as the same as a
landing light on a plane, very bright.
It flew in a
perfect straight line and it was travelling very fast at
first, it then slowed down considerably and changed colour
to orange. After
probably a minute or so, that also
appeared to go behind clouds. I would guess
it's flight to
be SSW to NNE. I have looked at local websites and newspapers to
see if these have been reported anywhere, to no avail.
However, I note that a
lady has posted a report on your
website and describes a similar object, spotted
in
Portsmouth some 15 minutes earlier. Could these be related? My daughter and I
took 11 photo's between us on our phones, they're very
poor quality and have no
reference points on them except
for the time and date. I have tried to find out
what these
lights were and the only thing I can come up with is they may be
debris from a Near Earth Object called 2008tz, which made
a close pass to Earth
