"Hello Hilary
Been meaning for the past week to find out about a 'night light' sighting I
witnessed last Wednesday, 1 October around 9pm in Cheam/Epsom. Clear sky. Have
there been any reports on this?
As a car passenger, shortly after leaving the house on route to Epsom, I
noticed some lights in the sky which were not behaving as planes.
I kept
an eye on them for a minute, knowing that plane flight paths can be deceptive.
They seemed to be moving very fast, then one stopped. Another disappeared
completely. Within a few seconds the second one seemed to be back again and as
we turned the corner, appeared speedily to be playing tag!
Looking
again (lampposts, trees obscuring sometimes) there was then a plane, (I
presume, given the normal flashing lights on it) and a small bright light
sped to be close to it and appeared to be following its course.
From the
other side of the white light an object with lights resembling a helicopter,
appeared to draw in, a second or so of 'chase' then the 'helicopter' turned
away.
Opening the window, I noticed no sound. The objects were on our
left. We turned left towards Epsom and, despite the main street lighting, I
could still glimpse the white light almost in front, which it should
have been as we had turned to the left. Further up the road I noticed it on our
right, but we were on a straight road. At Ewell Bypass traffic lights, the light
was in front of us. I remarked to my driver about the light again. He said
it was a star, or Venus. I said that I was sure it wasn't; I dont look out for
ufo's, but my attention had been drawn to this. We turned left towards Epsom.
Straight on, at further traffic lights, the light was at 10 o'clock position.
Given our route it should have been at 5 o'clock position. My driver could
say nothing. On arriving at Epsom, with no veering off, even he had noted
the position of the light, which was stationary. At an 11 o'clock position to us
now. This was a maximum 15 minute journey, and the white light occasionally
'disappeared', reappearing in these various locations.
Do you know if anything was reported over the SW London/Surrey area last
week?
I would be grateful for any explanation or news you may have.
Many thanks
JT"
