Intense bright orange
light moving
slowly
ssw. Completely
silent. Stopped for approx 5mins then carried on in same
direction. Lost in clouds.
I have a still and hd
video,
but it's a new
camer,a
so I'm still
figuring things out.
It is really just an orange dot
on
the still. The auto
focus on the
movie wouldn't lock on,
but if you are sure you
want it I
will upload it when I figure it
out.
I live about 5 miles from RAF Brize Norton,
and the light was heading in their direction.
I am
well
used to aircraft going
overhead. I know what anti
collision
lights look like, police
helicopters are
also
frequent
visitors. This was none of these. It can't have
been fixed
wing
because it stopped for about 5 minutes.
Helicopters are
noisy, do not have
bright orange lights and in any case
would not hover above the cloudbase, I
think?
I have to admit to being quite shocked by
this event. I seriously cannot think of a plausible
explanation. Nothing fits
what I
know, and I am very keen
to find out
what I can. I spoke
to the Raf Brize
reception
who said
there had been one other phone call that evening and
gave me a number for the MOD, which was an
answerphone. I am sure you
are
aware they appear
to have
ceased their UFO data
collection, but they
have a
reports
history section. There are quite a few relating to bright
orange
lights.
What, if any, is the official
explanation?
I would
be much
happier if
this
was a natural
phenomenon, but
what?
